I got this email devotional this morning...very timely!
Princess started driver's ed this week and drove for the first time on Saturday! Apparently she likes to veer off into the other lane (people watching) and drive WAY passed the speed limit. She said the instructor had to pull the steering wheel and use her breaks a few times. UGH!
New season of life...new set of worries!
Healing Words
This story comes from a viewer (First Radio Parish Church-WCSH6). At a New Hampshire Cumberland Farms, a viewer was buying gasoline when he saw an older car pulling in toward the pumps. The driver seemed to be having trouble deciding which side of the car to put closest to the pumps. In a moment of indecision, the driver didn't turn the car to either side of the pumps, and instead bumped into the giant horseshoe set in front of the pumps for exactly such an occasion.
A man in his forties with a beet-red face climbed out of the passenger-side door. His blood pressure looked to be at near-fatal heights. A teenage girl slowly climbed out of the driver's side. The expression on her face was mortification. Dad was teaching her to drive, and she was nervous enough to forget where the cap was. As the viewer walked passed the dad, the viewer whispered, "This'll be a moment that both of you will wish you could forget, or one that both of you can laugh about for the rest of your lives. It's up to you and the next words you choose to use." When the viewer was inside waiting to pay, he looked out the window and saw them laughing. The dad was giving her a hug while tears rolled down her cheek.
It cost the viewer nothing but a second of time, perspective on the situation, and helpful words that could heal.
Let's Pray: Dear God, hold our tongues from rash words, and let us speak words of healing. Amen.
Today's Thought Is: Rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

How true!!! OMG...the princess driving. Steve was right. He said she would be just like he was in drivers' ed and this story confirms his prediction LOL
What a great story. I love FRPC and I hope it doesn't go off the air!
